Sous Chef

We are seeking an experienced full time chef that has worked in a restaurant or hotel of a similar calibre.

Working alongside our talented Head Chef, and his team, the successful applicant will learn and develop their personal skills. You will need passion and a love of ingredients and be someone who performs well under pressure and recognises the importance of motivating and leading other members of the team who may also be working under pressure.

You will be required to work weekends and split shifts

We are happy to consider a candidate that has worked their way up through the ranks and is willing to progress and develop further , however,  useful qualifications include:

City & Guilds diplomas in professional cookery

BTEC HND in professional cookery

A foundation degree in culinary arts

Health and safety and food hygiene certificate/s

Key responsibilities:

Running the kitchen when the head chef is away

Ensure you and the team adhere to culinary and company standards

Managing food purchasing and storage

Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment

Helping create new recipes and write menus

Good working conditions, rates of pay and tips!

 

Pastry Chef/ Pâtissier

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef/ Pâtissier to prepare a variety of desserts and pastries for our discerning guests.

Working alongside our talented Head Chef, and his team, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn and develop their personal skills. You will be creative and skilled in the making of pastries, desserts, breads and other baked goods whilst demonstrating an eye for detail and a passion and a love of ingredients. You will perform well under pressure, and recognise the importance of working as part of a team, motivating and leading others when necessary.

We are happy to consider pastry chefs that have worked their way up through the ranks but useful qualifications include:

Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field

A foundation degree in culinary arts

Health and safety and food hygiene certificate/s

Key requirements and responsibilities:

Ensure you and the team adhere to culinary and company standards

Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment

Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes

Creating new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers

Decorating pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation is attractive

Monitor stocks for baking ingredients within budget

Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking

Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently

You will be required to work weekends and split shifts.
